Chapter 26

1 THEN the Ziphites came to Saul at Gibeah, saying, Behold, David is hiding himself in Gibaoth-hawilah, which is before the wilderness.

2 Then Saul arose and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in the wilderness of Ziph.

3 And Saul encamped in Gibaoth-hawilah, which is before the wilderness by the wayside. But David abode in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul came after him in the wilderness.

4 David therefore sent out spies, and learned that Saul had come after him.

5 And David arose and came to the place where Saul was encamped; and David saw the place where Saul lay, and Abner the son of Ner, the commander of Saul's army, was lying in the path, and the people were encamped round about him.

6 Then David said to Ahimeleck the Hittite and to Abishai the son of Zoriah, Joab's brother, saying, Who will go down with me to Saul's camp? And Abishai said, I will go down with you.

7 So David and Abishai came to the people by night; and, behold, Saul lay asleep in the path, with his spear lying on the ground by his bedside; and Abner and the people lay round about him.

8 Then said Abishai to David, Your God has delivered your enemy into your hands this day; now therefore let me smite him just once with this spear which is on the ground, and I will not smite him the second time.

9 But David said to Abishai, Destroy him not; for who can stretch forth his hand against the LORD'S anointed, and be guiltless?

10 David said furthermore, As the LORD lives, the LORD shall smite him; or the day of his death shall come; or he will be smitten in battle and perish.

11 The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD'S anointed; but now take the spear that is by his bedside, and the jug of water, and let us go.

12 So David took the spear and the jug of water from Saul's bedside; and they went away, and no man saw it nor knew it, neither awaked, for they were all asleep; because a deep sleep from the LORD had fallen upon them.

13 Then David went over to the other side from Saul, and stood on the top of a hill afar off, a great space being between them;

14 And David called to the king and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Will you not answer, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who are you that calls to the king?

15 And David said to Abner, Are you not a valiant man? And who is like you in all Israel? Why then have you not guarded your lord the king? For there came in one of the people today to destroy your lord the king.

16 This thing that you have done is not good. As the LORD lives, you are worthy to die, because you have not guarded your master, the LORD'S anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the jug of water that was at his bedside.

17 And Saul heard David's voice, and said to him, Is this your voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.

18 Then David said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hands?

19 Now therefore, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the LORD has stirred you up against me, let us make an offering; but if it be of men, cursed be they before the LORD; for they have driven me out, that I should have no shelter in the inheritance of the LORD, saying, Go, serve other gods.

20 Now therefore, let not my blood fall to the earth far off from the face of the LORD; for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as one who pursues a partridge in the mountain.

21 Then Saul said to David, I have sinned; return, my son David: for I will no more do you harm, because my life was precious in your eyes this day; behold, I have played the fool, and have erred exceedingly.

22 And David answered and said, Behold the king's spear! Let one of the young men come over and take it.

23 The LORD renders to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not stretch forth my hand against the LORD'S anointed.

24 And, behold, as your life was highly esteemed this day in my sight, so my life shall be highly esteemed in the sight of the LORD.

25 Then Saul said to David, Blessed be you, my son; you have surely done great things, and also you have surely prevailed. So David went on his way, and Saul also returned to his house.

7 И пришел935 Давид1732 с Авессою52 к людям5971 Сауловым ночью;3915 и вот, Саул7586 лежит,7901 спит3463 в шатре,4570 и копье2595 его воткнуто4600 в землю776 у изголовья4763 его; Авенир74 же и народ5971 лежат7901 вокруг5439 него.

8 Авесса52 сказал559 Давиду:1732 предал5462 Бог430 ныне врага341 твоего в руки3027 твои; итак позволь, я пригвожду5221 его копьем2595 к земле776 одним259 ударом6471 и не повторю8138 удара.

9 Но Давид1732 сказал559 Авессе:52 не убивай7843 его; ибо кто, подняв7971 руку3027 на помазанника4899 Господня,3068 останется5352 ненаказанным?5352

10 И сказал559 Давид:1732 жив2416 Господь!3068 пусть поразит5062 его Господь,3068 или придет935 день3117 его, и он умрет,4191 или пойдет3381 на войну4421 и погибнет;5595 меня же да не2486 попустит2486 Господь3068 поднять7971 руку3027 мою на помазанника4899 Господня;3068

11 а возьми3947 его копье,2595 которое у изголовья4763 его, и сосуд6835 с водою,4325 и пойдем3212 к себе.

12 И взял3947 Давид1732 копье2595 и сосуд6835 с водою4325 у изголовья7226 Саула,7586 и пошли3212 они к себе; и никто не видел,7200 и никто не знал,3045 и никто не проснулся,6974 но все спали,3463 ибо сон8639 от Господа3068 напал5307 на них.

13 И перешел5674 Давид1732 на другую сторону5676 и стал5975 на вершине7218 горы2022 вдали;7350 большое7227 расстояние4725 было между ними.

14 И воззвал7121 Давид1732 к народу5971 и Авениру,74 сыну1121 Нирову,5369 говоря:559 отвечай,6030 Авенир.74 И отвечал6030 Авенир74 и сказал:559 кто ты, что кричишь7121 и беспокоишь царя?4428

15 И сказал559 Давид1732 Авениру:74 не муж376 ли ты, и кто равен тебе в Израиле?3478 Для чего же ты не бережешь8104 господина113 твоего, царя?4428 ибо приходил935 некто259 из народа,5971 чтобы погубить7843 царя,4428 господина113 твоего.

16 Нехорошо ты это делаешь;6213 жив2416 Господь!3068 вы достойны1121 смерти4194 за то, что не бережете8104 господина113 вашего, помазанника4899 Господня.3068 Посмотри,7200 где копье2595 царя4428 и сосуд6835 с водою,4325 что были у изголовья4763 его?

17 И узнал5234 Саул7586 голос6963 Давида1732 и сказал:559 твой ли это голос,6963 сын1121 мой Давид?1732 И сказал559 Давид:1732 мой голос,6963 господин113 мой, царь.4428

18 И сказал559 еще: за что господин113 мой преследует7291 раба5650 своего? что я сделал? какое зло7451 в руке3027 моей?

19 И ныне пусть выслушает8085 господин113 мой, царь,4428 слова1697 раба5650 своего: если Господь3068 возбудил5496 тебя против меня, то да будет это от тебя благовонною7306 жертвою;4503 если же — сыны1121 человеческие,120 то прокляты779 они пред3942 Господом,3068 ибо они изгнали1644 меня ныне, чтобы не принадлежать5596 мне к наследию5159 Господа,3068 говоря:559 «ступай,3212 служи5647 богам430 чужим».312

20 Да не прольется5307 же кровь1818 моя на землю776 пред лицем6440 Господа;3068 ибо царь4428 Израилев3478 вышел3318 искать1245 одну259 блоху,6550 как гоняются7291 за куропаткою7124 по горам.2022

21 И сказал559 Саул:7586 согрешил2398 я; возвратись,7725 сын1121 мой Давид,1732 ибо я не буду7489 больше делать7489 тебе зла,7489 потому что душа5315 моя была3365 дорога3365 ныне в глазах5869 твоих; безумно5528 поступал5528 я и очень3966 много7235 погрешал.7686

22 И отвечал6030 Давид1732 и сказал:559 вот копье2595 царя;4428 пусть один259 из отроков5288 придет5674 и возьмет3947 его;

23 и да воздаст7725 Господь3068 каждому376 по правде6666 его и по истине530 его, так как Господь3068 предавал5414 тебя в руки3027 мои, но я не захотел14 поднять7971 руки3027 моей на помазанника4899 Господня;3068

24 и пусть, как драгоценна1431 была1431 жизнь5315 твоя ныне в глазах5869 моих, так ценится1431 моя жизнь5315 в очах5869 Господа,3068 и да избавит5337 меня от всякой беды!6869

25 И сказал559 Саул7586 Давиду:1732 благословен1288 ты, сын1121 мой Давид;1732 и дело6213 сделаешь,6213 и превозмочь3201 превозможешь.3201 И пошел3212 Давид1732 своим путем,1870 а Саул7586 возвратился7725 в свое место.4725

11 The LORD forbid that I should stretch forth my hand against the LORD'S anointed; but now take the spear that is by his bedside, and the jug of water, and let us go.

12 So David took the spear and the jug of water from Saul's bedside; and they went away, and no man saw it nor knew it, neither awaked, for they were all asleep; because a deep sleep from the LORD had fallen upon them.

12 И взял3947 Давид1732 копье2595 и сосуд6835 с водою4325 у изголовья7226 Саула,7586 и пошли3212 они к себе; и никто не видел,7200 и никто не знал,3045 и никто не проснулся,6974 но все спали,3463 ибо сон8639 от Господа3068 напал5307 на них.

13 Then David went over to the other side from Saul, and stood on the top of a hill afar off, a great space being between them;

14 And David called to the king and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, Will you not answer, Abner? Then Abner answered and said, Who are you that calls to the king?

15 And David said to Abner, Are you not a valiant man? And who is like you in all Israel? Why then have you not guarded your lord the king? For there came in one of the people today to destroy your lord the king.

16 This thing that you have done is not good. As the LORD lives, you are worthy to die, because you have not guarded your master, the LORD'S anointed. And now see where the king's spear is, and the jug of water that was at his bedside.

16 Нехорошо ты это делаешь;6213 жив2416 Господь!3068 вы достойны1121 смерти4194 за то, что не бережете8104 господина113 вашего, помазанника4899 Господня.3068 Посмотри,7200 где копье2595 царя4428 и сосуд6835 с водою,4325 что были у изголовья4763 его?

17 And Saul heard David's voice, and said to him, Is this your voice, my son David? And David said, It is my voice, my lord, O king.

18 Then David said, Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? Or what evil is in my hands?

19 Now therefore, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. 22 And David answered and said, Behold the king's spear! Let one of the young men come over and take it.

22 И отвечал6030 Давид1732 и сказал:559 вот копье2595 царя;4428 пусть один259 из отроков5288 придет5674 и возьмет3947 его;

23 The LORD renders to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the LORD delivered you into my hands today, but I would not stretch forth my hand against the LORD'S anointed.

24 And, behold, as your life was highly esteemed this day in my sight, so my life shall be highly esteemed in the sight of the LORD.

24 и пусть, как драгоценна1431 была1431 жизнь5315 твоя ныне в глазах5869 моих, так ценится1431 моя жизнь5315 в очах5869 Господа,3068 и да избавит5337 меня от всякой беды!6869

25 Then Saul said to David, Blessed be you, my son; you have surely done great things, and also you have surely prevailed. So David went on his way, and Saul also returned to his house.
